Jennifer Emens-Butler is a partner at Obuchowski & Emens-Butler, PC in Vermont. The firm concentrates on business and consumer bankruptcy matters, with particular expertise in business reorganizations. Ms. Emens-Butler served as law clerk to the Honorable Francis G. Conrad, US Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Vermont. She received her JD, cum laude, from Vermont Law School and her BA from UW-Madison.

Ms. Emens-Butler is a member of the Vermont Bar Association, Bankruptcy Law Section (past Chair) and serves on the VBA's Board of Managers (elected, 2009 to present) and is the VBA President for the 2015-16 term. She has been a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and IWIRC since 2001. Jennifer has been an active presenter at local and national seminars and has taught Bankruptcy Law for the Vermont Law School's General Practice Program since 2008. She has written several articles for the Vermont Bar Journal and other publications. Ms. Emens-Butler is one of six Court-appointed mediators for bankruptcy matters and has more recently served as mediator in over 150 cases under Vermont's foreclosure mediation statute.

Jennifer has achieved an "AV- Preeminent" rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been certified in consumer bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. Cases of note include In Re FiberMark, Inc. (Vermont counsel), In Re Kessel-Duff Corporation (Debtor's counsel, construction), In Re American Paper Mills of Vermont (union representation) and In Re Rutland Fire Clay Co. (Debtor's counsel, mass tort).
